About SermonRecap
SermonRecap is a study companion for sermons. Bring a sermon you heard on Sunday, from YouTube or an uploaded recording, and get a faithful summary, the key points marked to their moment, questions to check what stayed, takeaways with one concrete step each, and reflection prompts for devotion or a small group.
Most churchgoers can remember the opening story of last Sunday's sermon and very little else by Wednesday. SermonRecap was made to help the message stick. Its tagline, Be the good soil, comes from the parable in Luke 8, where the seed that bears fruit is the word that is heard and held fast. A listener pastes a YouTube link or drops in an audio or video recording, and within about a minute SermonRecap produces a recap in five parts. The summary keeps to what was actually preached rather than adding new ideas. The key points follow the main moves of the message, each tied to the moment it was said. A short set of questions lets you check what you understood, the takeaways each come with one practical step for the coming week, and open reflection questions work well for personal devotion, a family discussion or a small group study. A growing library of recaps can be browsed on the site. Recaps of YouTube sermons are free, and uploading your own recordings costs $4.99 a month.
