justRead is an EPUB, PDF, comic and audiobook reader built only for iPhone and iPad. It is aimed at readers who own their files rather than renting them from a store, so the whole app is organised around getting your existing library onto the phone and keeping it in sync. It connects to a Calibre Content Server in both directions, writing reading progress, ratings and finish dates back to the desktop rather than trapping them on the device, and it speaks OPDS, with Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive built in and support for custom servers including calibre-web, Kavita, Komga and COPS. Books can also be read straight out of an iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive folder, so a single copy of each file stays where you already keep it. On the reading side there are more than 200 built-in fonts plus custom font import from a ZIP, margins that go to zero, per-book typography, and a true-black theme that switches OLED pixels off rather than showing dark grey. CBZ and CBR comics open in the same library with right-to-left flow for manga, an audiobook player handles m4b, mp3, m4a, aac and flac with Car Mode and a sleep timer, and Read Aloud speaks any EPUB using neural voices that run on the device with no account and no signal. Automatic statistics track sessions, streaks and reading speed with no manual logging, and highlights export to Readwise or Markdown.
